A car carrier truck (also known as a vehicle transporter or passenger car transporter) is a special-purpose truck or semi-trailer designed for the bulk transportation of passenger vehicles such as sedans, SUVs and MPVs.
It is used for intercity vehicle relocation, long-distance haulage, bulk transport and less-than-truckload (LTL) shipping.
High-level protection and minimal damage are required.
| Skeleton type (open-top) | It features side rails and uprights without enclosed side panels or a top cover; light weight, low cost and low fuel consumption. |
| Double-deck platform | The upper deck can be hydraulically lifted to adapt to different vehicle heights. |
| Fastening devices / Securing fixtures | Straps, tire locks and wheel chocks prevent movement. |
| Anti-slip plates / Ramps | Convenient for vehicles to drive on and off. |
| Braking & Safety | Air brakes, ABS, anti-skid system and water cooling brakes. |
